Per Gessle and Lena Philipsson are looking for company!

Together, they will perform the title track of Per’s upcoming album – a single due on 3 May. And there’s more to come…

It all started when Per started writing and recording a new album in Swedish. His first in eight years with new material. Early on, the idea of focusing on duets, singing together with some of Per’s absolute favourites, emerged.

A first taste came in February when “Beredd” with Molly Hammar was released and now it’s time for the second single, “Sällskapssjuk.” This time together with Lena Philipsson.

The album, also called “Sällskapssjuk,” will be released this autumn.

Per and Lena’s paths crossed back in the mid-80s when Per wrote the lyrics to Lena’s breakthrough song “Kärleken är evig.” Now it’s time again.

“Sällskapssjuk” suited Lena like a glove and during the recording in Halmstad, both thought it would be fun to work even more together. An idea was born.

In recent years, Per has thought a lot about managing the massive Roxette catalogue, all the hits that are streamed, played and find new audiences around the world all the time.

“It’s about all the Roxette songs, all the lyrics and music I wrote over 30 years. Marie will always be irreplaceable and I’m not interested in starting a new duo. But I have been thinking about how to take care of this treasure of songs in the best way. The idea of inviting Lena to Roxette seemed enormously appealing. She is a magnificent singer and a fantastic stage personality, and I am both proud and happy that she accepted,” said Per.

Christoffer Lundquist, Magnus Börjeson, Magnus “Norpan” Eriksson, Dea Norberg and Roxette icons Clarence Öfwerman and Jonas Isacsson will join Per and Lena on the “Roxette in Concert” tour starting in Cape Town, South Africa in February 2025.

Lena said: “I’m feeling both excited and a little tense about this tour. It will be great to work with Per – he is a phenomenal songwriter and an inexhaustible force.”

But already on 3 May, it’s time for a summer duet with Lena and Per; the title track from Per’s upcoming album “Sällskapssjuk”.
